Please could you click on your Mods folder, where your actually CC is, once to select it then go to File > Get Info. Under the General > Where section near the top of the info window please copy and paste the location of your Mods folder here.
/Users/[family username, private]/Documents/Electronic Arts/the sims 4 legacy

Move that Sims 4 Legacy folder in Documents > Electronic Arts to your desktop and launch the game to create a new one. Close the game without saving and move the contents, not the folder but just the contents, of your moved saves folder into the newly created one. Launch the game to check it loads the saves as it should. Now do the same with the Mods files.- 6 years ago
same thing happened, unfortunately. it created another new folder and version of itself and launched that one. it didn't have a single one of my saves, either. got same message as top post. sorry to keep bothering you with this.
