Sims 4 Legacy Edition Error 810

Hello,

I recently transferred my Sims 4 data over to my Macbook Pro (Late 2011 model) tfrom my PC. My older files work just fine, but my newer file will not load despite both the old and the new originating from the PC. I get the following error when I try to load the newer file:

"The game failed to load. Error Code: 810. It is recommended that you relaunch the game."

I've tried just about everything I can think of/read online. Tried turning mods off, starting a clean boot and moving files in one at a time, and many other possible fixes. I read that Sims 4 saves that were created after Legacy Edition began might not work. Is this what is preventing this save file from loading? If so, is there a workaround to get the save to work (outside of buying a new laptop)? I would consider a GPU upgrade if that would solve the problem and if it's even an option with this machine.
