Sims 4 on mac won't close

Hi i've got a problem,

so i have an iMac (macOS High Sierra) and i downloaded a script mod but i didn't know if had to put in just the latest update or all the updates. So i first only put in the latest update and my game worked fine but the script mod didn't so i quit sims properly in game and then put in all the updates in my mods folder. When i reopened Sims 4 the screen went black and it's been like that for at least half an hour. I can't do anything, the close button doesn't do anything and pressing quit on the sims 4 in dock also does nothing. I can't shut down, log out or restart my mac. I'm starting to pannic because i don't know much about computers and everything i've read about other people's problem is either too complicated or doesn't help. SOMEONE please help me!

Oke so i just tried to repare the sims in origin and it's now stuck on the last step. It says completing but it's not done yet and it's been saying this for way too long. It also didn't fix anything.. i still have The sims 4 open with a black screen and it won't quit. Origin also won't quit, i can't pause or cancel the reparation and i still can't shut down my Mac.. idk what to do anymore..

  • @ZoeMazeyrac  To force-quit Origin, press command-option-esc, and choose Origin from the list of open apps.  Do the same for TS4.  If all else fails, you can hold down the power button on your mac until it shuts off.  This is not great for the computer in general, but it sounds like you don't have a whole lot of options.

In the future, don't try to do anything to your game while it's running.  If you have to force-quit first, fine, but make sure it's closed.

Before opening Origin again, run the Origin reset tool for macs.

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/

Then disable Origin in-game:  Hover over your username in the lower left corner, select Application Settings, and look for the Origin in-game tab.

Next, drag your entire TS4 game folder out of Documents and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game again, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Make sure you can start a new save in this clean folder, and then we can worry about adding mods or custom content.

@ZoeMazeyrac , as of the November patch, some script mods will no longer work until the creators update them to work with the latest patch. If the creators have not updated since November, do NOT use those mods as they will no longer work at all and will cause your game to no longer work.

Please update us on your progress.
