Sims 4 saves lost MacBook

So I've been playing sims for awhile and this happened recently. Losing my saves. I put off that it saved the games to my iCloud in system prefrences. Now however the only thing I did was retrieve the sims files that were in my iCloud, named the folders something else and opened my game so I just had these old lost saves backed up. 

When I opened my game my most recent saves were gone, all my saves as if I just downloaded the game for the first time? So I renamed The Sims 4, to the The Sims 4 again because some people said it worked. It didn't. I repaired Origin, put my laptop on and off. Nothing is working. I only see my published households in my gallery but households / houses I saved in my library are gone? I clearly see my saves on my laptop but they're just not showing up? I also looked in OneDrive but there aren't any saves there. I'm so confused I legit see my saves they're just not showing up? 

I also tried making a new household, playing a little, saving them and then restarting my game. Then I can load a game but it's the household I literally just made. I'm just so annoyed  it's really really frustrating. This game costs a s h t ton of money and my saves are gone which I put a ridiculous amount of buggering time in. Please help!!

    Begin met het verwijderen van alle aangepaste inhoud. Basisstappen opvolgen. Is De Sims 4 bijgewerkt naar de laatste versie?

    Spelvoortgang van De Sims 4 zou standaard in je "Documenten\Electronic Arts\De Sims 4\" moeten staan.
    Als dat niet het geval is, dan is De Sims 4 niet eens gestart geweest op dit platform, is deze instelling misschien zelfs gewijzigd, heb jij of iemand anders deze bestanden en mappen verplaatst of zelfs verwijderd.

    Je dient overige en onnodige openstaande software helemaal afgesloten hebben, want deze kunnen de goede werking van De Sims 4 als de Origin cliënt verhinderen.
    Spelvoortgang kan je het beste lokaal laten staan, zodat het spel (of ander programma die dit gebruikt) toegang heeft tot deze gegevens.

    Je dient dezelfde taal voor de Origin cliënt en De Sims 4 te gebruiken. Zo nodig wijzigen naar het Engels. Repareer dan De Sims 4 nogmaals.


    Nieuwe gebruikersaccount met Administrator rechten maken en je daarmee aanmelden.

    De Sims 4 schoon starten en test of je opgeslagen spelvoortgang wel nou wordt behouden.

    De software van je platform bijwerken: https://support.apple.com/nl-nl/HT201541 Zorg dat alle nog beschikbare updates voor je besturingssysteem zijn geïnstalleerd, als bijwerken van alle stuurprogramma's. Herstart je platform hierna ook.

    Moved your post to the Sims 4 Mac forum for better troubleshooting. Your file system sounds a little messy so let's try and break it down 🙂

    Please could you click on one of your old saves once to select it then go to File > Get Info. Under the General > Where section near the top of the info window please copy and paste the location of the save file here. This is to check the current location of it.

    @Bluebellflora Yes exactly, my file system is really messy. I have several saves in several folders. I have like three saves with 3 behind it, and several saves with 2 and 4.. Now I can't find the right one of what my most current save is.

    Are all your saves in folders called saves? Or have you created new folders with different names?

    Your must recent save will have the most recent modified date in Finder and will be in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves as that is the default location for user data. If there is not a Sims 4 folder, or saves folder within the Sims 4 folder, in that location then the game will recreate a new Sims 4 folder, or new saves folder.
