Sims 4 stuck on ‘verifying game files’ for mac

Just updated to Catalina. Now Sims 4 is stuck on ‘verifying files’ and won’t open. Has anyone figured out this problem for Mac yet? I saw this was posted earlier, but no answer

No I couldn’t. I ended up uninstalling both origin and the game, and reinstalling which worked, but lost all of my saved data.

@Mamc6996 i have that same issue but i’m able to launch the game through the home screen on origin, not my game library

Can you launch the game through your Applications folder?

I had this a couple of minutes ago! I repaired my game and everything works now! Hope this helps.

All your saves should still be in the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts. If you have iCloud Drive set up have a look for any copies of your Sims 4 folder.
