@puzzlezaddict Also, the play option does appear and I guess tries to launch the game when I press it but then the origin screen comes back up as if it failed to launch.
@Bugluvr when you reinstalled origin, did you use the Origin reset tool for mac? It can make a big difference. (your post got placed in PC issues, but it should be in Mac issues)
