Sims keeps crashing after I've tried everything

My Sims 4 game keeps crashing. First, it would crash 0-10 minutes into gameplay. At first, I was getting MCCC last exception notifications, so I removed all broken mods. Now, I don't get those notifications anymore, and none of my mods are broken (they're all up to date too). My game still crashes, just a bit less frequently than before.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling EA Play and all my Sims files, I've deleted the save file I was playing in and made a brand new one, I've tried repairing the game through EA Play, etc.

I play on a 2020 MacBook Air with an M1 chip, and I run Sonoma 14.4.1 - it's completely up to date. I've never had this crashing problem before. I have a lot of cc in my game, but like I said I've checked the entire folder and none of them are broken or causing any issues that I know of. The mods that were previously breaking my game were KS SOL mods and a few custom traits and careers, but I've deleted them.

I noticed a slight improvement when I started saving my game while playing more frequently - every five minutes or so, because I didn't want to lose too much progress when the game crashed, but it still crashes after a while.

In case it's relevant - I can launch the game from EA Play just fine, but I always get the 108 error message in EA Play after I've booted up my game. I always just click ignore and keep playing because it didn't seem to cause any issues, but could that be it? I got this error message before and after reinstalling EA Play several times, but I don't know what it means. Reloading the app never seems to work either, I always get that error message within 2 minutes anyways.

Thanks.

    I promise you haven't tried everything 🙂

Please rename your Sims 4 folder then launch the game so a new, clean folder is created with none of your current user data. Start a new save and play a new game, as if you've never played before. How is it? If it works ok without crashing close the game, trash the save you just made and copy one of your existing save files from your usual Sims 4 > saves folder into the newly created Sims 4 > saves folder. Then load the game and see how it performs. Do not move any other files into the new Sims 4 folder, no mods, no tray files, nothing.

I think you mean the EA App when you reference EA Play? EA Play is a subscription service not available on macOS.
