Why do I not have the newest sims 4 update?

Heeyyy everyone,

I hope that you guys can help me. I have been playing sims 4 for 7 years now and never had a issue with the updates. I have played sims on 2 different MacBooks and there wasn't a issue with it. Now my dad got me a Mac computer for in my room. I downloaded sims and as I was ready to make a new family I noticed that I still only had 18 options of hair colors and that I couldn't add nails to my sim. So that means I don't have the newest update. I have already restarted my Mac, downloaded it again, repaired the game and clicked on update game. I still do not have the hair colors or the nails. 

P.s. I just published this question and opened my sims and started playing. Then I realized that my whole game was behind. I don't even have the discover university pack? like I'm missing half of the stuff???

Does anyone know what I have to do?
