@simsical-musical Try restarting your computer. If that doesn't help, open a File Explorer window, open the Desktop folder in the left panel, and then add this to the address bar, after Desktop:
\The Sims 4\saves
or
\The Sims 4\Tray
The idea is to try to get around the error by opening a subfolder. This will only work for certain kinds of problems, but it's easy enough to try.
If that doesn't help, can you right-click the folder and select Properties? If so, please post a screenshot of what you see under Properties > General.
