They are .package files and opens with the Sims 4. That you have associated them with Internet Explorer (or more likely Microsoft Edge) does not mean that they will stop working.
any way to make it like it was?

Yes, But it requires resetting all associations. Which means you would manually have to set associations again except for Windows defaults. Probably not worth the hassle but to do so go to Settings, Apps, Default apps then click the Reset button. Instructions are for Windows 10.

I also did the same thing and would like to reset it, the problem is it I have no idea what to switch the .package app to. What was the original software called?
