After linking EPIC games and EA app game will not launch

I downloaded Epic games launcher for the three free packs. I had no issues linking or finding and downloading the packs in my EA library. Now, I cannot open the Sims4 at all. I’ve tried through Epic and EA to launch the game and neither works. If I start in Epic, it opens EA and then nothing happens. If I start in the EA app it opens the launch loading pop up but stays there for as long as I let it. I tried to delete Epic but then when I tried to launch it said I needed Epic to launch the game now. Either one I try to launch the game from will open the opposite app but it never launches. The DLC are still in my library and at this point I just want them out because this plus all the other recent Sims4 issues are frustrating considering how much money I’ve spent. I tried to repair the game and waited for nearly two hours for nothing to change. I do not have ANY mods or CC installed and haven’t since before growing together came out.
I have been trying for several hours to launch the game.

I’d like it to work but if that’s not possible can you get rid of one add-on at a time instead of uninstalling everything?

I have already submitted an error report through the EA error reporter. This is the report code:

  • @kakeguruialex  Please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of Sims 4 with Revo Uninstaller:

    • Put aside your Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts and rename it to something that doesn't include the words "Sims 4."
    • Download Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) from here.
    • Launch Revo, select Sims 4 from the list, and click Uninstall.
    • Once the game is uninstalled, select "Moderate" under "scanning modes," and click Scan.
    • Review the list, in case there's something you want to save; otherwise, click Select All, and then Delete.
    • Close Revo, and restart your computer.

It's worth using Revo to uninstall and reinstall the EA App as well.  Then reinstall the App, restart your computer, and reinstall Sims 4 through the app of your choice.  If you install through the EA App, you may need to launch the game through Epic once; there's a thread about this issue here:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports-Technical-Issues/Sims-launching-through-Epic-instead-of-EA-app/m-p/12547957#M27250

After that, it looks like you should be able to use the EA App without Epic.

  • @kakeguruialex This is happening to me now and I am not uninstalling my game only to lose my progress for making a single mistake.
This is ridiculous and EA needs to fix this.

@OctopieXXY  If you're talking about Sims 4, uninstalling the game won't erase your saves or other user files.  To be safe, you can back up the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts before uninstalling—this folder contains all your user data, and while it doesn't normally get deleted during the uninstall process, it's best to have a backup in general.

OP, I've found recently that the EA app won't launch while the Epic app is running. The sims4 needs the EA app to launch so the answer (for me, at least) is to quit the Epic app, by right-clicking it in the taskbar tray and clickint "Exit", before trying to launch the Sims. If it still doesn't work after doing that you need to open the Task Manager and kill any instance of the EA app, and then try again.

Not sure when this started happening but the above works for me.
