all of a sudden mods are not showing up, not one/a few but none of them

so i was playing ts4 after the newest update with mods installed and it was working fine. i quit the game and went to download some more, but decided not to. i reopened the game to find that all of my mods weren't there so i checked in the options setting for "mods enabled" and they were enabled. I went to "list custom content" and it said i had none. I was confused so i quit the game and went to the mods folder. All of my mods were still there. I had changed nothing and it was working fine before i reopened the game so i know it was the right folder. I reopened the game and restarted it like 3 times but no result, still no mods. I dont understand what to do because i literally cannot play the game without mods.

Move mods folder to the desktop. Delete localthumbcache.package file in the game folder
Fix the game in Origin. Origin/library - right click on TS4 - option "repair game"
Turn on the game to create a new mods folder and new resource.cfg file.
Then copy your mods and CC from desktop and paste into a new folder.
Check if the mods are showing now.
If it will not work it means that some configuration file in the game folder is damaged.
In this situation rename The Sims4 folder to The Sims4 old
    1. Turn on the game to create a new, virgin folder of the game.
. Delete in the new game folder following folders:
    "saves", mods and Tray.
2.. Go to "The Sims 4 old" folder and copy - your "saves " folder.
3, Paste this folder in a newly created game folder
    4. Do the same with Tray folder, mods folder and TrayDeleteItems file

    5. Delete "The Sims4 old "folder and now you will have only one - I hope working properly

    I don't work for EA

  • hi, i tried this but when i got to "turn on the game to create a new mods folder", there was no new mods folder after i turned it on. Do i have to create it myself and then put them in? thanks

Please follow the steps in the article to find where the User folder the game uses is located. You just confirmed that it was not using the one you thought since you deleted the Mods folder and it was not recreated when you started the game.
