Audio Crashes

Hello~

When I'm playing the game my audio will suddenly crash and won't come back unless I restart my computer.  If I have youtube running in the background, when the audio crashes my sound will be stuck on whatever was playing for a few seconds before cutting out and the audio in the game sounds like static.

Also, my game will randomly crash, not sure if these two things are related or if its the same crashing that other people have had.  I am currently seeing if resetting to factory settings without reinstalling will help.

EDIT: Resetting the game and deleting cache files didn't help.  Not sure if this could have fixed the audio issue either because the game crashed before the audio could.

    I don't have Nahimic Audio installed but I have Nvidia High Definition Audio, Nvidia Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM) and Realtek High Definition Audio.  I can't find a download for the stock Windows sound driver.  I've been putting off installing Windows 10 just because I'm so used to Windows 7 and have been using it for so long but if upgrading could potentially fix the audio problems and crashing (for all other games as well) I might just download it for my desktop (my gaming/school laptop came with Windows 10).

    Thought - do yoou have your monitor connected hdmi?

    @snacksthecat Try going into device manager and update the NVIDIA High Definition Audio. Make sure the audio is set up correctly in the Nvidia control panel. Is the HDMI cable plugged in and monitor powered up before you power up the computer? Does this happen when you disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable? Try a different HDMI cable (maybe). The computer senses change in what audio is plugged in where. With HDMI the audio has to be routed through the video board instead of the audio output jack. A guess could be a bad HDMI cable could cause the audio to reset to the adio out jack instead of through the video card or could be a problem with the Nvidia audio driver (a bad driver who would guess). How old is the tv? When you power up the computer the Nvidia card reads the EDID and sets up the output. Is your tv a 4k tv?

    NVIDIA High Definition Audio drivers are up to date.  The HDMI cable is plugged into the monitor, but I don't always power up the monitor before turning on the computer, sometimes I turn on the computer first then the monitor.  I'll see if I have another HDMI cable somewhere, and my monitor is pretty old (around 8 years?).  I use a Razer headset too and this is what the NVIDIA control panel looks like under audio setup: http://puu.sh/pf1BD/a7cd71387b.png

    You could try using an audio cable instead of the audio over HDMI.

    I'll see if I have one of those lying around, if not I'll just have to deal with no audio...I've noticed my game crashing a lot sooner than before so I still can't tell if the audio was fixed or not. Usually I can play for a good 45 mins before anything crashes but lately its been 10 minute intervals...
