Best laptop for sims 4 with DLC + CC that will run smoothly in dec 2022

Hello! I've tried to research the best laptop to get in order to run The Sims 4 with all the DLC + CC & mods, but I am having trouble understanding the new requirements for pc and I really want to make sure I get the best laptop for a reasonable price. This laptop will strictly for The Sims 4. My budget, I'm happy to go for anything between $600 and about $1500. I really would love to have enough space and that the graphics card and other components will run smoothly. I know this question has been asked before by millions of simmers,  however, I can not seem to find a thread from after the new pc requirements this year. I will forever be grateful for the guidance and direction.Thank you in advance!

  • @Pandoraboxx21  In some ways, shopping for a laptop for Sims 4 is pretty simple.  The first and most important question is what graphics card the laptop has.  For your budget at least, you can ignore the processor: any current gaming laptop will have a processor that outpaces the graphics card.  You'll want at least 500 GB storage (and in solid state drive form, but that's almost guaranteed these days).  And while it would be nice to have 16 GB memory, it's not critical: you can always upgrade later, as any halfway-decent gaming laptop will have removable RAM modules and two slots to install your own.

For the graphics card, an Nvidia RTX 3050 is more than fast enough to run all current Sims 4 packs together on ultra settings.  The 3050 ti is about 8-10% faster in gaming than the non-ti variant.  A 3060 would give you some buffer against fps drops, not that you wouldn't see them at all—this game is going to run poorly from time to time—but that the lows would be a little higher.  Above that, you really wouldn't get any benefit from a faster card.  So the question becomes whether you want to spend a little more to get performance that's a little bit better on the low end, or you'd rather save that extra $200-300.

As far as laptop models go, there are plenty of options, some higher quality than others.  This is an example of a laptop with great build quality (plus a 3060 and 16 GB RAM) that isn't too expensive:

This model, also high quality, has an AMD GPU that's even a little faster than the 3060:

Actually, I just found this one too, with only 8 GB memory, but like I said, it's upgradable:

These are not the only options, just the cheapest good choices I found in a quick search.  If you don't like any of them and want me to look further, just let me know what other details matter to you.  And if you'd prefer to shop around yourself, feel free to link the laptop(s) you're considering for a second opinion.
