For me it crashes in Gallery. Not all the time but usually when I try to follow someone or download someone elses sim.

Does it matter how many people are online ? Do you have a strong internet connection and do you use wifi or LAN ?
Serious problem: by visiting the gallery, the cache memory fills up unnecessarily. Even if you were to look at a single Sim your cache is filled with documents afterwards. We had 130 Sim pictures in our cache file, having only looked at 8 or 10 Sims. 8 of those 130 files also turned out to be corrupted files!
Did you empty the folder each time ? I don't know how many pictures it loads on the gallery overview each time.
- I've had freezing issues that are similar and probably the same as to disconnecting from server. I have it lock up and can't access the task manager to close the program until a about 30 sec later then the program works again. It's a very rare problem.
