buttons up/down floor level & no/partial/full walls in live mode don't work

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? when in build mode buttons in top right corner where you can move up and down levels and select whether you want to see no/partial/full walls work fine. Once you go to live mode those buttons initially can be clicked on, but after clicking grey out.
What happens when the bug occurs? When switching from build mode to live mode the roof plops onto the house and stays there. Both buttons remain grey and you can only look at the outside of the building.
What do you expect to see? The buttons working, being able to move between levels of the house and to get the walls down, fully up etc...
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.

Since yesterday evening the buttons for level up/down & no/partial/full walls don't work anymore in live mode. They do fine in build mode, but in live mode it simply pops the roof on it and refuse to budge. Initially the two buttons can be clicked on, but nothing happens and they grey out. It happened after I build a house on the 50x50 lot in Mua Pe'lam (not sure if I wrote that correctly) and when I wanted to go to live mode it only let me look at the outside of the house and not do anything with it. I've removed all my mods and cc, repaired the game, reinstalled it, and tried everything I could think of in order to try to fix it. I've downloaded houses from the gallery (not build by me) and placed them on various lots in various worlds to test it and everywhere the same happens. Also with houses I build earlier in different game saves that were previously working fine, letting me lower walls and go up and down levels within the houses, now they simply freeze in the full-walls, including roof look of the house. I have every pack available for Sims4 and every patch is installed. Hopefully the picture is clear enough. It shows the up/down buttons grey, the walls up/down button at the down position, while the roof is still on the house (ground floor building on raised stilted foundation) but should be gone with the interior of the house in full view.
