You are a genius! I was about to just total pull the plug and never play the Sims again! For others reading this, I have a Mac and started getting this error message after upgrading my OS to Catalina, I did what everyone else was saying to try with no luck (including EA), THIS WORKED!!! Thanks again!

  • Thank you so much!! This was an easy fix! Does the old electronic folder need to stay on desktop even after the new one is created? I have already transferred mods & saves.

You can delete your old electronics art folder as you won't be needing it.

    Hi folks,

As you found the advise shared in this thread from earlier years weren't that helpful. This is because what causes these issues change over time so it's very likely something else is causing this error message today.

If you're on PC, please join a current thread on this as the advise should be more up-to-date. If you can't spot one, please create a thread for it. For Mac Catalina players, check out this thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/Info-The-Sims-4-macOS-Catalina-Troubleshooting/m-p/8291917#M20883
