  • HI @CDarmz

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

Hello, thank you for your reply!

I am not having issues trying to load a household anymore. I switched to another household and the game loaded fine but I haven't tried to play the original household that wouldn't load.

The game is now having issues with exiting the game. The game runs fine and saves fine. When I try to exit the game or save and exit, the screen doesn't change after saving and I have to force close the game each time with ctrl alt dlt. This has also only been happening since the latest update.

I have no cc or mods at all.

How can I fix this? Or is it a case of waiting for another update?

  • @CDarmz  Is it or has it recently been Winterfest in your game?  There's an issue that causes lag and makes saving difficult or impossible:

Please also check the size of your recent save files, whether or not the above is your issue.  Go into Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves, and see whether the most recent saves are markedly larger in size than the older ones; you can sort by date modified.
