Can I play the same sims game on multiple computers?

My sister and I share the sims and I just got my own computer so i was wondering if i download the sims on my new computer, will it erase all the sims/homes that we have previously played on my sisters computer?

  • @simplycourtney You can install Origin and the game on as many computers as you want - the catch is only one person can have Origin open at a time. One code - one account. If you want to play at the same time with different games you will have to get a new code and create a new account.

  • @simplycourtney  Saves, builds, saved sims and households, etc. are stored locally on a computer, not in the cloud and not tied to your Origin account.  If you want to continue to play your existing saves, you'll need to copy their data over to your new computer.  You can use an external hard drive or USB stick to move the data, or upload it to a free filehosting site and then download it from your new system.

The best practice is to install the game, launch it, start a new save, have a look around to make sure it's running smoothly, then quit and add your old data.  Saves are located in the saves folder; content saved to the library is in Tray.  Here's a complete list of the files in your game folder, along with explanations of what you might want to transfer:
