@jarzzie When I last tried it worked fine for me. Not sure if something has changed.
Where is your DLC installed ? In the Origin or Steam installation folder ? AFAIR, for me everything was re-downloaded to the Steam one. Maybe they changed stuff.
Don't have much time today but can do some re-testing tomorrow.
EDIT: Moved this post to tech and merged another similar thread into it. Guess I def need to do some testing to see if something is wrong.
@BeardedEchelon Do you get an error downloading or what happens in detail for you ?
- 5 years ago@crinrict Yeah I just realized no I don't, I tried playing in origin but I only had the items and gameplay that came with the dlc that I bought in origin. When I tried playing in sims 4 ins steam, it also only had the dlc I got from steam. I had both sims 4 game since it didn't merge into one base game. Is it supposed to be merge into 1 base game or am I supposed to have two. I tried only downloading one base game but if I didn't download the other one it would not put the dlc i got on the other game

My Origin shows both versions (NVM the Play Pro thing) but you should have both the Sims 4 and the Sims 4 Steam. DLC from Origin should work with the Steam version but DLC on Steam does not work with the Origin Version.
When I tested this when it first came out, it would always launch the version I've installed last. So if I installed Steam last, it launched the Steam version even if I clicked on the Origin Version (you can tell by turning off Steam, then starting the game. If Steam starts, it's the Steam version, if not, it's the Origin Version).
I will do some testing tomorrow to see if anything changed
