Cannot save because "Game Loading is in progress"

I have the same exact problem except a little different. I just got on one day and it was like game loading in progress you cannot save. I have sims 4 pets but I don't own any animals and there was nothing in my sims queue so I don't understand how this could have happened. With that being said  maybe there is just something messed up with the sims 4 pets expansion pack all together. I'm kind of mad because I don't know what to do to fix this and I want to play my game. Please respond with any help!!!!
