"Can't load sims 4 with this video card"

hey, me again, I have a pretty old laptop, I've had it for maybe 10-15 years and I had just downloaded the sims 4 a few months ago. One day, after downloading some mods and planning to load to the game, a system notification came up saying something along the lines of "can't load sims 4 with this video card". I've seen a bunch of tutorials online on how to fix this, but I can't seem to find those repair options on my laptop so I don't really know what to do. I've seen something about going to Origin and fixing it there, but again, my laptop doesn't seem to have that option. This has been going on for about a week now, someone care to help me?

  • alright, so. My sims was finally able to be opened on this blessed day, but some things are off. 1. I can't use cheats: I've already pressed the basics; Ctrl + shift + c, but I've tried motherlode, kaching, money xx, and it still doesn't work. 2. all my mods and cc have disappeared: Every file, every mod, every hair, every piece of clothing that I had downloaded for the past year had disappeared, mainly because: 3. my game had reset. And when I mean reset, I mean reset. All of my characters, all of the custom houses, all of my progress. Gone. Maybe some might say that I just need to redownload the mods and cc, and that might sound a lot simpler than it really is. With over 300+ cc and mods that take a pretty complex step by step to download, it seems like such a hassle to get all of it back. One more weird thing is that I still have the old files of cc and mods, yet it doesn't show up when I play the game.

@thesaturngirl561  For the cheats, can you see the letters appearing in the cheat box?  If so, what happens when you click Enter/Return?  Have you tested the cheats in live mode?  Some only work there.

For the missing mods and custom content, the files need to be in the Sims 4 folder the game is currently reading, and this location may have changed since you were last able to play (due to Windows stuff).  Here's how to find it:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/

Please make sure the entire path matches from the drive letter to "The Sims 4."  You can see the location of a mod or cc item by right-clicking the file and selecting Properties > General.

If you're not sure what you're looking at, please list both paths here.  Please also post a screenshot that shows some of the files that aren't loading, as in, I'd like to see their names and sizes.
