Can't open sims 4
Hi there,
I have tried to open the Sims 4 and can't do it. It comes up with the following message:
Unable to start:
Cannot start because game data is missing or damaged. If you have mods installed please remove them and try again. If not, please repair or reinstall the game via origin.

I do not have any mods and never have and I have tried reinstalling the game (there is no repair option.) It still won't open. Not sure what to do.
@catherinedsharp What antivirus do you use, and does it help to disable that program (temporarily, of course) before launching Sims 4? You'd want to repair the game with the antivirus disabled too, then not reenable it until you've tested. If this helps, set exceptions for TS4_x64.exe and EADesktop.exe.
Otherwise, please let me know where you've installed the game. If you used the EA App to install, open your game library, click Sims 4, then Manage > View properties, and you'll see the file path there:
