can't upload lots without the MOD/CC tag added

Hello,
I don't know if it's an issue or just something the game does but the only custom content I have is character creation related custom content. I have no build and buy custom content installed but the game still uploads the houses I'm building with the mod box ticked and they only show up with the CC tag now. Is that normal or is it because I use CC for my characters that it just assumes have it in my builds? Because it's kinda annoying when I want to share my builds but they are only seen if someone allows CC in their search even tho I don't use any CC for my houses

  • Hi @AliceNakiri

    there's a few things than can make a building be marked as cc even if you haven't used any on the building itself

    • Sims with CC that live on the lot
    • Custom Pictures and Photos
    • Certain mods that change traits and other things about your Sims.

    So if you have Sims living on those builds your uploading, yes, the Sims are probably the reason.

    I would upload like this if you want to share your builds

    • Upload the builds with cc mark to the gallery
    • Rename your the sims folder in documents to the sims 4 CC or something along these lines
    • Start the game, a new user folder will be created
    • Start a fresh save
    • Download your cc marked house from the gallery into the game
    • Viist that household (that should strip all cc)
    • Re upload the build from this fresh save and delete the cc one.

    After that you can delete the new sims folder and rename the the sims 4_CC back to the sims 4 and continue playing with your family.

    @AliceNakiri
    Take out from house all paintings create by reference and all photos made by your sims. It should be solved your problem 🙂

    @crinrict

    Sim with CC does not affect this when saving his home 🙂

    Well, they used to, especially when they were on the lot at the time of your saving the home. If they changed that, way to go :P

    There's many different factors that can make it happen. I had it multiple times on lots and on Sims that no longer had cc but used to at one point, even if it was just mod. Above method does ensure the cleansing of most cc issues (except custom pics/photos which I already pointed out separately)

    @AliceNakiri,
    in Surroundings mode - evict the Sims family from this house.
    Then enter the house in the construction mode and now publish the house in the Gallery.
    The CC tag should disappear. 🙂
