Can't use laundry items

Please describe what happens.

It will not put clothes in the basket when they change and the basket is not clickable 

The sims automatically put their clothes in a laundry basket if there is one nearby. Place one in all bathrooms. If there is far from the bedroom to the bathroom place a laundry basket there as well. After your sims have changed clothes you will be able to click on the laundry basket (anyone will do) and select to do laundry in the washing machine or tub depending of which of these you have.

I have tried that and it didn't work

Are you sure it is a laundry hamper not a waste basket? There are three in the game all named something hamper.

Do you have either a Washing machine or wash tub?

I have tried to repair the game

Yes. I am sure it is the laundry basket. I use the same one all the time. I do have both the washer and the dryer 

Do you get the clothes going into hamper animation when taking a shower? Try replacing the hamper with one of the other two possibilities.

No. I didn't get that animation.  I tried all of the laundry baskets. Same result
