cc makes random create-a-sim options disappear

I've always had this problem, but it has recently become much worse. When i have CC downloaded and am trying to choose clothes/facial features/etc. in create a sim, seemingly random panels where the options show up are gone. it's not just the panels containing my CC, its random ones of even things that come with the game. they seem to be getting pushed to the right, as every now and then an edge of one will stick out and i can still click it, but it's gotten terrible with about 2/3rds of my options now being gone. I haven't downloaded any new CC in MONTHS. it has done this since the very first thing i downloaded.

Again, its not just CC thats not showing up, it's stuff from the base game/packs/expansions/etc.
