Choosing Language
UPDATE 2015-05-30
There is now an easier possibility to change the language. Please make sure to opt in Origin Beta since it's not available on the current version of Origin.

It is possible to purchase English versions off of reputable digital stores
So You basically mean that Origin ain't reputable digital store? That's rich. Also, CIS translations are sickeningly bad, like half of the text doesn't make sense (or more if we're talking about space adventures), or even won't fit - sometimes you can only guess sims mood by colour and face on the panel cause text just disappears. And everyone in CIS stuck with this situation because of an outdated policy, so yeah, I would appreciate it if you as a community manager will try to change something in ea's heads as an insider.
Now that's the ea i know
Screwing things up and not giving a solution. Did you guys read that? "oh, you can buy the game again from another source".
That's great! Great!
So riddle me this. I bought the game, installed it, didn't stop to ponder about the language, because i presumed there would be an easy (and in game) way to change it. 25 hours later, i open it again and realise that i can't do that. And then, now that i can't ask for a refund on origin, a community manager comes in and says: nothing to do, you'll just have to buy it again!
Am i the only one who sees how absurd this is?
That's ea for y'all, never disappoint
EDIT: (changed to lower caps for readability)
sttsek, I Don''t know if you read all the answers but in the last page there'sa post saying that if you change the language of your origin in your preferences, and redownload the game, it'll switch languages.
And there's another person saying that if you move your game folders before starting the redownload and putting it back when you begin the downlaod, you won't have to wait the same amount of time as before for it to finish.
Not saying that EA wasn't stupid by not allowing language changes on game or in a game launcher, but still...
OK then, thanks for informing us about this, now I know for sure that officially Electronic Arts is not selling and not planning to sell a digital version of Sims 4 in English in my country, in other words - there is no way for me to legally obtain this product. Good to know. It is of course the most stupid business decision I've heard of, but whatever - you're not selling, I'm not buying, it's that easy.
BTW, I'm actually glad that this issue forced me to wait as now seeing the reviews, it turns out that Sims 4 is apparently worse than Sims 3 so... maybe I should go with 3... it also has English as an option.
Oh this is so sick, it's one of these things that my brain is incapable of comprehending - I imagine an executive at EA sitting there and thinking (and that's a guess): "So we have a platform for digital distribution, we have a game that we will offer for the same price for everyone, it's rated the same for everyone so that said, I decide that in 3 countries, we will remove the amount of languages in which the game can be played. Yes, that makes perfect sense, let's do this. This will hopefully increase sales and decrease piracy because obviously if there's less choice, people will pay more."
😕mileyvery-happy:
Actually, my solution only works if the language is available for your country.
As i understand, this is not the case for east europe.

Looking at your entitlements, you do happen to have multiple languages available.
Switch Origin to the language of your choice in the options before reinstalling the game, and it should automatically be installed in the language of your choice.
