it turns out the reason i was having this problem was because i had my graphics on ultra high so i put them on medium and it seems to have fixed it but thank you for your help
@xXempoXx_666 Your computer still shouldn't freeze when running the game on excessively high graphics settings. Under normal circumstances, you'd see all the effects of lower framerates, and maybe some lag, but not an outright freeze. So it's very possible there's a problem that needs more troubleshooting. If you're interested in pursuing this further, let me know.
Hey my sims 4 was working fine for a little while but after the new update it has gorn back to freezing my pc
@xXempoXx_666 That's not surprising, given the situation. Please run a new dxdiag, so I can see if there are any new interesting errors.

@xXempoXx_666 Most of the errors in your dxdiag are failed Windows updates, and none of them are necessarily directly related to Sims 4, although the underlying cause could be. Please start by running a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files. Here's how:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, and manually run any pending Windows updates: hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the button to check for updates. If there are a number pending, it may take several tries, with restarts in between, to get them all to run.
Once all the updates have finished, please try to play Sims 4, and if it freezes your computer, try to get a crash dump, as described earlier in this thread:
