@salteii I can't see the error message because this site's virus scanner is broken and not letting any uploads be displayed. Could you either embed the image in a post, or upload it somewhere else (imgur, etc.) and link it? Please also let us know whether you use mods or custom content. It's fine if you do; it's just easier to troubleshoot when we know.
It would also be helpful to see a dxdiag. It'll need to be uploaded to a third-party site as well (pastebin.com is one example, and you don't need an account), since even .txt file uploads aren't working.

I use mods and cc, I actually haven't tried removing them to see if the problem is still there but I haven't downloaded any new ones since the problem started.

@salteii Please do test without mods or custom content, just in case the issue really is that simple. Move your entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Don't add anything to it; just start a new save and see whether it runs normally. Let me know either way.
There are also a number of failed Windows updates in your dxdiag. These may or may not have anything to do with the Sims 4 issues, but they should be addressed anyway. Start by running a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files. Here's how:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, and run any pending Windows updates: hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the button to check for updates.
Your dxdiag also lists one crash of the graphics driver, and although it's not necessarily from Sims 4, the next step would be installing a new driver. Still, try the other steps first, to see if they're enough. You'd need to do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver, which is a bit of a process; the other steps are easier.
I created a new save game without any mods or cc like you said, and played for about an hour. There were no errors, so maybe it's a problem with the mods or cc that I have? So I made sure I had the most up to date version of the mods but I am yet to try out my original game again and see if that's the issue.
When I opened Windows PowerShell and entered the text you mentioned, it said:
Error: 740
Elevated permissions are required to run DISM.
Use an elevated command prompt to complete these tasks.
PS C:\Users\imeld>I restarted my computer and it's up to date.
