Cowplant not planting

So i get the cowplant berry and go to plant it in the planter, and then it disappears, it has happened 4 times now, my game is up to date, and yes days have gone by in game and still nothing shows up in the planter, is this a bug? or is it me?

I recently had this issue too! It turns out you don't need to plant it into the planter, you just kind of plant it on the ground. Hope that helped!
