See if disabling audio as described here https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/983645/crashing-with-the-november-10-update%C2%A0 fix your issue. If it does then you will need to wait for a fix.
Adding -nosound didn't work. I also forgot to mention that my drivers are up to date and that I tried reinstalling Origin as well.

There are several different reasons the game might not start, all with different fixes or workarounds, so it's important to try everything listed.
Hello, apologies for responding super late.
It turns out my problem was with Sophos home and the new update. After the update, code cave utilization prevention was killing the game for everyone who ran it. Plus adding the sims files to the exception tab for Sophos didn't help either- just a thing to note. Thanks for the help!
