@coffeebeans20 The Task Manager lists background processes underneath the currently running processes and above the Windows processes. I think you need to be in detailed view (click More Details or something) to see the complete list.
So if you restart your computer, open Origin, and don't have automatic game updates enabled, Origin still tries to repair or verify files? That's odd. What happens if you put Origin in offline mode: does the game become playable?
- 6 years ago@puzzlezaddict I feel dumb but I still do not see any of those things you mentioned about the task manager. All I have is Applications, processes, services, performance, networking, and users. From those tabs on the top I don't see what it is you're talking about.
But besides that, sorry for the late response, I was able to do this huge 16 GB update to my game yesterday and it took all day to complete. I was able to go into the game without mods but when I closed origin and opened it again afterwards it still tried to repair so now I'm guessing I have to always be in offline mode? Which sucks. Anyways, I just went in to try it with mods but then it said that I didn't have certain things installed (like packs because the world I was using was gone and I only had the 3 base game ones). I have them all installed, the only thing I can think of is that they need to be repaired again?- puzzlezaddict6 years agoHero+
@coffeebeans20 The worlds missing from the world select page is usually fixed with a repair, or a clearing of Origin's cache plus a repair. But it's also possible that your packs aren't loading because you're offline. This is unusual, but it does happen, and going online once should fix it. I know that's not helpful if Origin keeps trying to repair though.
For the Task Manager, you're looking in the wrong place. The processes running on your computer are listed along the left, grouped under three headers: Apps, Background processes, and Windows processes. Here's a guide with screenshots:
You can see "Background processes (46)" under the few apps that are actually running.
