Data Breach from the sims 4?

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.78.58.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything except: Journey to Batuu, Paranormal, and all kits (except bust the dust, I have that).
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know
What happens when the bug occurs? When loading up the game I get a notification form Norton that data protector stopped a breach from the sims 4, when I launch the game.
What do you expect to see? I don't want breaches when launching the game.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. recent patch 8/24/21 1.78.58.1030

Upon launch of the game during the Sims 4 Logo I get a warning from Norton that The Sims 4 attempted to breach my data and was stopped by Norton. This didn't happen until the update today. Along with this issue I have also made an complaint that the game is also stopping me from enabling mods and the welcoming screen keeps popping up. I have tried to repair my game. At this time I have tried cleaning the cache and have repaired it 5 times. The repairing usually fixes a corrupted install. I have no idea what is happening besides that the update was infected.

  • I was getting this after the patch as well as an enable mods window.  Making the exclusion stopped the message, and now the mods do load.  The welcome screen should stop after you exlude the sims 4 exe program in Norton

  • @MissEshia It's very likely an issue of the exe changing cause of the patch and Norton classifying that as a false positive.

As Nuke said, just add Sims as an exception and you should be fine.
