Dine Out bug - cannot toggle open/closed plus ownership disappears

I'll put it as simply as I can: 

When I buy a restaurant and open it, the Businesses tab displays my restaurant as being 'Currently Closed', and the toggle button is stuck on 'Open' even though it is open and the button should say 'Close'. So that means that the employees and customers come in, but I can never close the restaurant. 

Once I leave the restaurant, the Businesses tab says that I don't currently own any businesses. 

So I have to go to the map and sell the business manually so that I can get the Simoleons back to my household. 

The same thing happens when I buy a retail store. 

Here is what I have already tried: 

- Repaired the main game and the expansions

- Uninstalled and reinstalled the game 

- Uninstalled the game and Origin, and reinstalled both

- Have not removed mods as I don't run any 

- In the meantime there have been two game updates, both of which I installed, but sadly the bug persists

I emailed my bug through to the Help Centre two weeks ago, but didn't receive any replies. 

I called the help line and they recommended posting the bug here as the developers deal with such queries themselves. 

Please let me know if there is anything else that I can try, I would greatly appreciate it as I currently cannot play the expansion. 

If there is no solution, I would appreciate a reply regardless so that I can quote it for my refund request.

    I should add: the dining/retail functionalities all work normally, it's just when I try to buy a restaurant/retail store.

    Willing to share your save game ?

    If so, please zip up this folder: documents\electronicarts\thesims4\saves and drop the file to this Mediafire-Link to upload.

    Please make sure to name the zip file with your user name.

    I usually don't. I guess you just have to try after the next patch.

    Do keep your save till then and maybe play a new one.

    You can save all your Sims/houses to the library and put them in a fresh game.

    Hi @ladyt11

    as you have other issues with retail as per your other post in the other thread, it sounds like a corrupted save or a mod issue.

    It's best if you open your own thread and describe exactly with issues you're having (it's easier to help you in one place then to collect bits and pieced here and there).

    Do test without mods if you use any.
