EA not showing up in Documents Folder

Hello,

You probably get this question a lot, but I will ask it anyway. My Windows laptop with the EA app just stopped working. So, I started to download it from an old Windows 11 laptop until I get a new one. However, I couldn't find the Electronic Arts Folder in Documents. It was under Program Files, and there is no Mods folder in my Sims 4 folder in there. I do see the Sims 4 Folder under EA Games, but no Mods one in there.

How I fix this issue?

Thinking about it, I am glad that I am asking this because this issue might appear in the new laptop as well.

  • @SimSeeker  You'll need to start the game once to find the user folder.  And be sure to check both Users > username > Documents and Users > username > OneDrive > Documents.

    Hello,

A week ago, my laptop stopped turning on, so I had to get it fixed. Then I used an old laptop to download the EA app. I did, however, download Google and found out that the EA folder isn't in Documents. Then I deleted Google Drive and found that it worked in getting the EA folder in Documents. However, I didn't play the Sims because that laptop didn't have enough space (The one that is/was fix does) for mods.

Now that I got my laptop fixed. I did uninstall OneDrive before downloading the EA app. However, the same thing happened as with the old laptop. I don't see the EA folder in Documents. I didn't even install Google Drive. Did I miss something when I went into Settings> Install Apps > Microsoft OneDrive and uninstalled it that way (And then installed the EA app), that there is still OneDrive somewhere within the laptop? Or is there another step that I missed?

    Hello,

Sorry for the late reply. I did fix that issue by uninstalling Google Drive last week. I did put in another of the same issue, now that I got my laptop back. However, this time I did uninstall OneDrive before I installed the EA app. But the same thing happened. I did go into what you suggested, but on my end there is no Documents and Users after I went to Users> Username> There is only Documents.

But I did find a OneDrive folder in Username and deleted it. But it still didn't fix the issue.

@SimSeeker  Have you started Sims 4 once on this computer?  The Electronic Arts folder isn't created until the game loads for the first time.

Your screenshot looks like it's of the Program Files folder.  That particular Electronic Arts folder contains the program files for the EA App and has nothing to do with Sims 4.

If you want to be sure that your computer's Documents directory is in the correct location, search in Windows for Command Prompt, open it, and enter this command:

reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "Personal"

This will return the location of the Documents directory, which should be C:\Users\your username\Documents.  If it's anything else, let me know.
