EALauncher.exe - Bad Image

Something happened to my EA App about 4 days ago and I can't for the life of my figure it out. I only have the Sims 4 on my EA App and I was playing fine one day and I went to open the app literally the next day and now it won't open at all. I can't click on it, I can't uninstall it, I literally can't do anything with this app. It gives me this whole long error message and I don't even know what it's talking about.

I've googled searched and tried to get it it work myself but on all these threads and other forums I'm doing what they are saying but I'm still getting the same error message.

So many posts have been about the visual c++ redistributable downloads from Microsoft about the ×64 and ×86 and I've uninstalled both old versions of those and installed the newer ones but nothing is working and nothing is happening. I'm not a computer expert so I don't know how much more I can do without messing up something that I can't fix. I'm just at my wits end.

Error Message I keep getting trying to open the EA

App:

C:\Program Files\ Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA

Desktop|VCRUNTIME140.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

Error status -x000012f

I have never seen this code before and I've been playing sims 4 ever since it was released and I was using Orgin and now I have the EA App and I don't know what happened. I ordered Home Chef Hustle, Book Nook Kit, Greenhouse Kit, and the Little Campers Kit all on 10/22 and I was playing fine until 10/24, which was normal gameplay for me. Then I tried to open the app 10/25 and I got that error code for the first time. It's been like that ever since. If anyone has seen this before or knows how I can get help, please please please... I need help.

  • @_rebecca_1013 Hi!

I have tried running System File Checker, but couldn't find any faulty. If you have the same exact issue as me like the screenshot i attached and cannot uninstall the app, you can try my solutions. Open the file location of the EA app, find the App extension and delete both of the extensions (VCRUNTIME140.dll and VCRUNTIME140_1.dll). Then you can try uninstall it and reinstalled it back. I tried this way and the EA app finally running as usual. I hope this can help you with the issue.
