@MadameNordica I've merged your new thread into your existing one so we can keep all the info in one place.
Is the graphics card error still appearing the first time you try to launch the game? If so, does it help to run Origin and Sims 4 as an admin? Right-click on the Origin desktop shortcut and select "Run as administrator"; once Origin is open, launch Sims 4 as an admin via its desktop shortcut as well. If you haven't made a shortcut, you can use the .exe within the game's program files.
For the crashing, is it limited to CAS and build modes, or do you see it other times as well? What world are you building in? Is there any pattern to what you're doing when it happens, or what categories or items you're looking at in CAS?
I've only had the error code saying the game couldn't access my video card that one time, but I've now had many random crashes.
When the crashes started, it was just in build and cas mode, but I just had the game freeze up randomly when I was moving my just aged up y/a out of the house, so now it's just random times - who knows when it will crash next.

I've had the game crash on me numerous times lately. Usually, it's when I am in CAS. But lately it does it while I am just in game and moving Sims around. I've had the crash completely shut my game down so I lose whatever game play I had bee playing. It's annoying and makes you want to just give up.

@MadameNordica What kinds of framerates are you seeing in-game? You can check with the cheat fps on; the number will appear in the lower-left corner, over the user interface. What world(s) are you playing in, and do you get better results in one of the base game worlds? I realize the latter doesn't cover crashes in CAS, but it's still useful information.
Please also let me know how hot your graphics card gets while you're playing. You can see it in the Task Manager's performance tab. Please let the game run for at least 20 real-time minutes before looking. And while you're there, let me know how much of your CPU Sims 4 is using as well.

@puzzlezaddictLast night it was super slow I wish I'd known that cheat to get the fps b/c I'd bet $$ it was super super low. Today everything seems in order and working nigh perfect. It is super weird. As for cpu usage it is reading around 22%. I've run it for about an hour and 20 minutes.
that being said, last night I deleted all cache, local thumbcache, spotlight file and repaired the game. Not sure if that had anything to do with it but so far so good.
Core temp is 65-70 degrees - sorry I forgot I had that core temp program installed.
UPDATE - it's been a couple of hours and cpu usage has climbed to about 25%
UPDATE: almost 3 hours and we're up to 33% - I remodelled the old gay couple's house in Henford & since they were dead moved my family of 7 in there.
UPDATE: I started at 7 a.m. it's now almost noon and myh fps are down to 4 in build mode. I just had a death in the family and I'm moving things around or trying to. My cpu usage stayed at around 20 ish during the entire thing. once I came out of build mode my fps popped back up to 49ish.
Update: happy to report no crashes today so far, but I haven't been in cas at all.

@MadameNordica There's a separate issue with lag related to Build/Buy modes. I didn't mention it before because this doesn't cause crashes and certainly not error messages about the graphics card. But if this is the main issue you're seeing now, this would be the thread to use:
Some players report opening the Options menu (the three dots) or the Gallery in Build/Buy helps, as does opening a menu in live mode (fridge, bookshelf, computer) when lag shows up there. But there's no guaranteed workaround, unfortunately.
Your CPU temperatures and use are fine, as I'm sure you know.
