Crashing/Freezing troubleshooting steps

Follow the below steps and hopefully these steps should fix your issue

Step 1:- First check whether your PC meeting the the mininum requirements of the game or not. You can check this by following this help link:- http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-check-if-your-pc-meets-minimum-requirements/

Step 2:- If you are experiencing General performance problems, you might just need some configuration tweaks. This you can do it by setting up Graphic card gaming profile by following this link:- http://help.ea.com/en/article/setting-up-a-graphics-card-gaming-profile/

Step 3:- Try to change the compatiblity mode of the game by following this link:- http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-do-i-check-windows-recommended-compatibility/

Step 4:- If you was able to play the game before, but it has now stopped working without doing anything to your PC, perform a System Restore.
== System Restore is a tool from Microsoft that allows a user to roll back any system updates that was performed and set the system back into the mode it was when a program last worked as intended. If a user used to be able to play a game, but at a point the game stopped working, performing a System Restore is the quickest way possible to get the player back in game.
== For more information about System Restore, Microsoft has provided a good guide that you can see on this article:- http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ie/windows/system-restore-faq

How to Perform System restore

a) You should save any open files and close all programs. System Restore will restart your PC.
b) Follow the below steps
-- Open System Restore by clicking the Start button.
-- In the search box, type in System Restore and press ENTER or click Search.
-- In the list of results, click System Restore. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, then type the password or provide confirmation.
-- Then follow the steps in the wizard to choose a restore point and restore your computer.
Note: If you chooses the most recent restore point so as to limit the loss of data/progress you may incur.

Step 5:- Clear the Origin cache by following the below steps:-

a) Ensure Origin is fully closed by clicking the Origin Menu and selecting Exit.

Click on Start button and then select "My Computer". Under "My Computer" you'll see "C:" drive and there you'll see Programdata, Programfiles, Programfiles(x86), Users folder.

(Note: These folders are hidden by default, and you will need to un-hide to be able to locate them. If the files are hidden then you can un-hide it by referring this link-http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/show-hidden-files#show-hidden-files=windows-7)

b) Now delete the following folders:
-Delete the Origin folder - Found in C:\ProgramData\
-Delete the Origin folder - Found in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\
-Delete the Orign folder found in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\

Step 6:- Make sure you are running latest version of Origin. If you not then uninstall the older version of Origin application and download it again by following this link:- https://www.origin.com/en-in/download

Step 7:- Perform the Ccleaner by referring this link:-http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-use-ccleaner-to-fix-pc-issues/

Step 8:- Disable Origin in game overlay by following this link:- http://help.ea.com/en/article/origin-faq/#7a

Step 9:- Update and Repair the game by following this link:- http://help.ea.com/uk/article/i-cannot-load-my-game-from-origin-or-i-am-having-issues-in-game/

Step 10:- Please also go through this link as there are many applications that conflict with Origin:- http://help.ea.com/en/article/programs-that-may-cause-conflicts-with-origin/

Step 11:- Unplug all USB devices (aside from mouse and keyboard).

other methods:factory reset ,clean install-nvidia driver, disable origin in game, repair game,empty my mods file, clear all downloads from the gallery, reinstall the whole game,lower settings

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    @stanleylaucy Video driver settings and game settings and computer connections all have to be examined. Video driver settings, resolution - some resolutions seem to drag a video card down. Anti aliasing - post processing takes video chip power. What resolution do you have the game set for? What kind of monitor(s) do you have? How are they connected? Not all HDMI cables are created equal and the same goes for DVI cables. Is the power supply capable of continuous power enough for the video card (I don't care what the label says). How is the video card connected to the power supply? Are you using adapters and saturating the bus of the power supply? This is more common then you think - If you have a multi bus power supply the load may not be distributed correctly thus under powering the video card. All these things need to be looked at.
    My monitor is Dell U2414h. They are connected by a mini display port cable.
    Second, my resolution for sims 4 is 1920x1080 60hz(the same resolution for tomb raider and overwatch)
    I will check to see if the power supply goes wrong.
    Thanks for ur help.
    @stanleylaucy Is the display port cable certified? The GTX 970 requires 13 amps at 12V. Nvidia specs say a 500W power supply. If the power supply is dual rail you need the power supply to have 26amps (13A + 13A = 26A) and have 13A available to the video card. I think 500W may be low. 600W has become common now. Do not compare the Sims games to other graphical games as it seems that the Sims games seem to use both the cpu and gpu harder.
