I have this problem as well. I had only 2 families created. I clicked to download the christmas pack in opening credits and then was able to play one of my families with no problem. I closed out the game for the night, when I went to reopen the next day there was a message that the christmas pack had successfully downloaded and from there all the problems started.
*Can't play either one of the families I created.
*Tried to start a new game - While I was able to create a new family and pick a place for them to live -when it came time to actually 'play' the new household The same glitch happened and I'm looped back to the maps page.
*I do not know where to go to delete the downloaded christmas pack thinking this could resolve it.
*My game was a gift for christmas so it had only been played for 3 days before the download happened.
*Uninstalled the game
*Re-installed game from Origin
*before I could stop it the Christmas pack automatically downloaded as well
*My previously made families came back
*same map loop continues
*I cannot create new, play with the old, or therefore use the Sims 4 game at all
