Glad it's solved.
I'm going to lock this thread now because it has run it's course and the original issue was fixed a while ago

I noticed the footnote that the save files were no longer being fixed, which is a shame since I have spent over $100 on this game. Regardless, I am leaving the link to my save files here in case anyone will be so kind as to sympathize with my plight.
I have tried everything mentioned in the first post, to little avail.
I am able to load My Saved Game 35 (Goulet household). That is the last save that will correctly load. There is one save after that, called PostRepairNoMic. That save is corrupted. If I try to load it, I get the never ending map bug, and then if I try to load any of the known working saves, they also have the bug. If I run the repair utility via Origin, I can then load a known working save.
Additionally, I am unable to progress after loading My Saved Game 35. It starts on a Saturday, and I can load my household (Goulet is what I am playing), but once they leave for work and I try to load the workplace (I am going to the science lab as a scientist) it just takes me to the map screen again.
