floor tiles being deleted when adding new ones nearby

I'm trying to extend the floor tiles that are outside but whenever I place new tiles, the new tile is surrounded by a blue hover state and deletes all of the nearby tiles. I can't seem to find a way to not delete nearby and have looked online with no luck to a solution.

Could you post a screenshot of the "blue hover state". I'm not sure what you mean with that.

She means there are about 1-2 blue outlines when you place a tile next to another tile, meaning that it will delete those tiles. It is happenenong to me and lots of other people.
