Free Pets stuff no install

Hello,

Please could someone assist with this hot mess?

I purchased and play sims4 and dlc thru EA app.  Recently with EA giving away free pets stuff, I clicked it on Steam and the free pets dlc has been added to my Steam and EA app library list, but whenever I hit the Ea pp download button, it just times out and refuses to install.

On the EA app it states, that the pets dlc is managed by steam, but I had previously bagged the luxe dlc thru steam and it successfully installed using EA app.  So why cant this free pets stuff not install?

So, how can I get the steam registered pets dlc to install with EA app?

I do not want to have to reinstall everything using Steam as all my games and dlc are thru EA app, with the exception of the FREE jungle life dlc and I would lose that because its on epic?

Can I remove the steam registered pets dlc from the EA app library and re-add the free pets dlc thru EA store, so this would make the stuff install with EA app?

Halp can any anyone offer a solution, other than reinstall everything using steam?  That would mean I would lose the Jungle life from epic, and I dont want to lose jungle livin.

I was able to remove the sims4 dlc from steam like this:
    --------------------------------------------

From Steam: Select HELP and STEAM SUPPORT from top menu
Scroll down page to bottom of page for "Search issues, Features and Games" Searchbox
    Input name of game/DLC

Steam displays list of ALL Products and DLC with the keywords you inputted

Click product you want removed from Steam account (s4 my first pets)

    Steam asks:
What problems are you having with this product?

Select the option you want..... at the bottom of list there is:
"I want to permanently remove this game from my account"

After clicking that option it is instantly removes game/DLC from your Steam account.

    -----------------------------------------

Incidentally, I managed to get all my steam games relisted and reinstated on EA app and have tested them. Even the Steam based Desert Luxe Sims4 dlc has been enabled and payable in sims4 when launched thru EA app!! Titanfall also launches! Huzzah!

So yeah, I have managed to sort this sorry mess, and by god I had to jump thru hoops to get there.

Roll on Sims5 or any other sims clone for that matter and thank you Puzzelzaddict for your assistance with this issue.

  • @Eeekey  I'm not sure how you managed to install Desert Luxe (if that's what you mean) through the EA App when you owned it through Steam.  Normally, any content you own through Steam has to be downloaded into a Steam install.

I would suggest trying to remove My First Pet Stuff in Steam, but I don't know whether it's possible.  If it is, do so and then clear the EA App's cache:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

You can then claim MFPS in the App.

If that doesn't work, your other two options are to temporarily unlink your Steam and EA accounts, just long enough to claim MFPS in the App; or to contact EA customer support and have the Steam version of MFPS removed from your account.

    Hello @puzzlezaddict

Looked thru steam purchase history to remove my first pets from steam and nothing is listed. Maybe its not listed on steam because the dlc has not been activated yet? There is nothing to remove from steam Library, in order to re-add to EA app. Yet on ea app the free pets game stuff is listed on manage dlc, but using Steam and gives a download button.

I would contact Steam customer service, to have the dlc removed from my account, but since there is nothing listed in purchase history, there is nothing to achieve there.

See the picture. ^^^Steam had linked Desert Luxe and first Pets with EA, AND Desert Luxe IS INSTALLED using the EA app.

As for Desert Luxe kit, that was bagged free from Steam on Nov 30 2020, and I  was able to download thru EA app no problem. ^^^See above pic as proof.  Havent got a clue why, but it is there, downloaded and installed on EA app, and I always launch Sims ONLY thru EA app. The sims is never launched nor installed thru Steam (apart from sims3, which runs fine)

I tried the Eapp Help App Recovery and it had not helped. Whenever I goto the EA store I have the option to download the dlc, but just sits at "preparing....and never installs with a timeout message.

Just now I attempted to unlink my steam and EA accounts. Was I successful? Of course not. EA requires an email authentication pass code. Yet EA fails to send the verification email code. Even spammed the button and checked the Junk folder....nothing. I guess with all things EA, this will get dragged out for the next couple of day and nothing will get resolved.

Why does EA make my blood boil?   EA, will not send out a verification code to the email address. I cannot unlink any of my various accounts with their EAcapp, I cannot download games thru EAcapp, I cannot manually delete a game from the EA app, I cannot add a free dlc from their EA store to my EA account, and to cap it off, sims 4 gonna run and run.

As a last resort, the only option is to contact EA customer service, to request they remove this infernal free sims pet dlc from my linked Steam account and re-add it to EA app.

Whish me luck, I am well aware of EA wiley tricks and I maybe sometime.  In fact I "may" get a solution,  just in time for when the sims pets dlc goes back to full price!  Now thats crafty!

Roll on sims5 or any other sims game for that matter

Ok so after requesting many verfication codes, and waiting 15 minutes for either one to show in the email,  after some considerably long time, I somehow managed to unlink the steam and EA app.  I then launched Ea app and the steam sims4 dlc was still listed in the ea app. Umm ok then...

After which I went back to steam and had a deep dive, and was able to removed the free sims pet dlc form my steam account. Huzzah! Upon revisting EA app, I was able to add the free pets dlc to EA account. A successful three hours of a wasted Friday!!

I then went ahead and relinked my steam and EA account.

Relinking to steam was very easy!  Steam have made great improvements in access your account with them!

Same can not be said for EA and its jumping thru hoops.

Anyhoo, when I resigned back into EA app I expected all my Ea games to re-instated to Ea app library.  Not much to ask?

So, I launched Titanfall and Ea throws up an error message that it is not linked to my account.

Joy of Joys!  What a great way to spend a day off work! Going round in circles with EA crummy crack code.

Ive wasted most of today with this bull and Ive had enough of this garbage.

If anyone wants to give me any solutions, then feel free, but I will reply tomorrow since Im at my wits end right now and might explode with anger.

  • @Eeekey  I don't know anything about troubleshooting Titanfall, but I'd suggest uninstalling the EA App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) and reinstalling it.  If that doesn't help, you'll probably need to reinstall Titanfall.

Out of curiosity, how exactly did you remove MFPS from Steam?  I don't have Sims 4 on Steam, so I can't test it myself, but I'd like to know for future reference.
