Game crashing with low use of gpu and cpu the sims 4

  1. Hello, I am essentially experiencing significant lag in my game, The Sims 4, and what intrigues me the most is that my GPU usage remains extremely low. This has happened before, but now with DirectX 11, the situation has worsened, becoming even more unstable. What I’m trying to say is that both my GPU and CPU are underutilized, while the FPS hovers between 30 and 40. I’ve checked, and my DirectX is fully compatible. I have 16GB of RAM, and my game is installed on an HDD. However, another thing that puzzles me is when I move the camera to the sky, which is theoretically a less demanding area, the FPS and GPU usage spike. Therefore, I honestly cannot understand the issue. I’m using a GTX 1070 and an i5-10400F, and I’ve already tried locking the game at 30 FPS, but it worsens the situation, as usage drops to 20% and fluctuates a lot.

  • @matheuskurts  To set a baseline for performance, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; start a new save and let me know how it runs.  Please test first in one of the base game worlds, then in a different world if you want..

Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
