Game Data Incomplete Sims 4

There was a storm in my area that had caused the power to turn off and on multiple times in a row, I got my computer unplugged and when it was safe, turned it on and restored system etc.  I can get into the game fine and it looks like it can run but when it first goes into the game after clicking the play button and it takes you to neighborhood, it pops up a message that says "Game Data Incomplete" as title and then in the box it says "Not all game data could be loaded. The save game references neighborhoods that have been uninstalled or otherwise are no longer available. If you continue playing, you will encounter missing data and may have unexpected results. If you save the game, there will be no way to recover the missing data." And then an "OK" button.  How do I fix, replace, or "recover" the "missing data" ?     When I go into my household a message pops up titled "Items Removed" and says "One or more items may not be installed on your computer or the Origin account that is currently logged in does not own these items. 5 Build Mode items have been removed." and then an "OK" button.  I do not know what these items are either.  The game also does not seem to register the expansion I have installed "Get To Work", none of these items show up, nor does it seem that the careers can be accessed, as well as the retail store neighborhood not showing up on world select when previously, it did.  My game does register the two add on packs "Holiday Celebration Pack" and the "Outdoor Retreat" just fine.

Please disregard this problem. I have found the solution.  I had to go into the expansion menu from the sims 4 menu and hit the "repair game" button on the expansion.

Please mark this as solved.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • I am having this same problem but mine happened after several times of my Xbox One losing and regaining internet connection and was wondering if  anyone else knows how to fix this on console or if it's just because my internet is being slow

See mentions of consoles, this is the PC forum. So I'm going to answer with a PC answer, hopefully it helps.
All your Expansion Pack, Game Pack and Stuff Pack are all collected under you The Sims 4 tile in Origin. Follow these steps to find them:
    - Go to your 'Game Library' in Origin
    - Right click on 'The Sims 4' and choose 'Game Details'
    An overlay moves in
    - Click on the 'Extra Content' tab
Scroll a bit down and there all your owned and not yet owned packs should show up.
