Game does not load into main menu after 9/18/24 update

Ever since I updated my game yesterday, I haven't been able to open the game. It will seem as though it will launch, but then it gets stuck on a black screen or the blue/green geometric background bu...

@lilyinezenya Please run sfc /scannow as well, and let me know what result it returns.

Additionally, please plug your monitor into the graphics card rather than the motherboard as you've currently done. Here's a diagram I like to borrow from someone else:

If that doesn't help, please move the Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be in the folder you've moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

Okay yes definitely because my HDMI is plugged into my motherboard and not my graphics card. Only thing is that my graphics card is literally not running lo. But thank you so much!! that was really helpful because I was able to launch my game with dx9. I guess I just have to figure out my graphics card now

@lilyinezenya That doesn't sound good. The dxdiag recognizes the GPU though, so it's not entirely dead. Did you make sure the HDMI cable was properly seated? Do you have a different cable you can test with? For example, your TV probably uses HDMI as well. Even better, if you can find a DisplayPort cable, you could test different ports on the GPU. I can't tell whether your monitor supports DP, but it should given it's relatively new.

If you're willing, you could also try reseating the GPU and the power cable, at both ends.
