I'm having a similar issue except I'm not black screening nor am I getting an error message. I click on the SIMS 4 icon and nothing happens, I open Origin, go to SIMS but the play link is faded out as though the game is already open. I have no custom content etc, only EA SIMS 4 content. Might you have a suggestion?
Do you have any mods or CC (custom content)? Try taking that out.

Hi! I have been looking for someone who has the same problem with the game as me! I have tried installing origin from the EA website but I get a black page that says error webpage. I downloaded an older version of origin as that was the only way I could download the damn thing. I installed the sims 4 and all my packs but when I press play, nothing happens. It would appear that this is an Origin problem, could you please tell me how you fixed yours? I'm pulling my hair out so any help would be greatly appreciated!
