Game Stuck Saving

@simmerjennbob If OneDrive is running on your computer, whether you use it or not, please try pausing syncing before you play. You can find the option by right-clicking the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.
If that's not the issue, try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. If you get an error when trying to move the folder, or it copies rather than moving, stop here and let me know.
Otherwise, when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Don't add anything to it yet; just start a new save and see whether you can get far enough to play in live mode and save your progress. Let me know what happens.
Hiya!
Thank you so much for the help - it worked! I was able to move the Sims4 folder to my desktop and able to get past the save screen! Happy day.
What's next?!
@simmerjennbob Start moving your files from the old Sims 4 folder to the new one. Where the game has created a new file or folder, it's best to use that rather than the old one, so for example don't bother moving over the many random files like config.log or notify.glob. For the folders like saves and Tray, move the files inside rather than the entire folders.
Start with anything in Mods you'd like to keep. Test the game again, and if you run into the same issue, you'll need to sort through your mods and custom content. The 50/50 method can make the process much more efficient.

Once you've sorted through those files and your game is still working, you can move over the contents of saves and Tray, plus Screenshots and Recorded Videos if those matter to you. Then test one more time, and if everything still works, you can ditch the old Sims 4 folder and continue playing with the new one.
