Gray overlay over homescreen
Everytime I try to open the game I get the Readers Reward pop up and then when I close it leaves the screen stuck with a Gray overlay on top.
I literally played yesterday and it wasn't happening, I've changed nothing.
@stormyhale Try playing in windowed mode. Go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, open Options.ini, search for fullscreen , and set it to 0 (zero).
If that doesn't help, do you actually want to engage with the event? If not, there's a way to disable it entirely. In Options.ini, search for onlineaccess and set it to 0 (zero), then delete accountDataDB.package, also in the Sims 4 folder. This should prevent the Reaper event from showing at all. If/when you want to reverse this, set onlineaccess to 1, or enable Online Social Features, in Options > Game Options > Other.
