i think when the sims 4 first came out this laptop had windows 8.1 and i dont ever remember this issue ever happening until about a year ago..i may try windows 10 though.
As for the resolution, is there something i can do to help that out? either in game or somewhere in my laptop?

@aly975 The minimum requirement for this game is 128Mb of dedicated video memory. Your dxdiag says there is 0 dedicated memory as you have the integrated Intel 4600 video chip. Integrated video chips do not have true dedicated video memory. All the video memory is borrowed from main memory. While your game may run on your computer, the game may quit working at any time for no apparent reason. Many players have reported issues with Intel integrated video chips. Intel does have newer drivers for the 4600 on their support site. This may fix the issues but as your computer is below spec you may continue to have issues.

@roberta591 But i run the sims 4 using the nvidia geforce gt 740m that is also in my laptop...so does that intel video card problem still matter although i am not using that card to run the game?? Also, what causes it to be 0 is there something i can do that adds some memory back?? Ill still check out the website for updates for the driver, but i do think last time i checked it said it was up to date.
