[HELP!] item's-original and CC-picture not showing? And loading/saving issues

Nearly all content both original and custom are not being displayed however, they are useable. For example, while creating a sim I can't see most of the hairstyles and clothing, it is simply a blank box, but I have the option of selecting it to use and I can see it once my sim has it on. This applies to furniture in build mode as well. I also have a struggle with lagging and wait times which I assumed was CC or from downloading all the game and expansion packs but now my game won't save at all sometimes it gets stuck on loading screens for hours and it's happening more and more frequently. These issues I'm experiencing both started about 3 weeks ago when I was away and had no internet access for a while but since then I've updated the game as well as origin and the problem persists. Any idea what's happened to my lovely game? ☹️
